Date & Time
A co-production between the Coventry City of Culture Trust and Coventry Pride, in partnership with Coventry Cathedral.
Classically Queer is a special performance of classical and contemporary music by a new Queer music ensemble – celebrating the best of LGBT+ musicians in the region.
The event is taking place in the Coventry Cathedral Ruins. The choice of location was inspired by gay composer Benjamin Britten, who wrote War Requiem for the consecration of the new Cathedral in 1962.
Classically Queer is part of the Summer of Surprises, supported by the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport. It also forms part of Coventry Pride’s Summer of Pride which will showcase local talent with a summer of events including art exhibitions, concerts, and the Pride event on 8 August.
This will be a ticketed event, with attendees paying a pay-as-you-feel amount of between £3-10. Tickets are available online on the Coventry City of Culture Trust’s website.
