Coventry Pride are thrilled to announce their first-ever digital sponsor, CityFibre.
This partnership comes during our Summer of Pride, a series of events, artist commissions, alongside our main Pride event, running from July to October 2021.
CityFibre are sponsoring our digital outputs throughout this period including some exciting video and audio outputs that we will be releasing later in the summer.
As Pride is looking a bit different this year, we are making as many of our events as possible digitally accessible, with the support we so gratefully received from CityFibre.
This includes a full digital version of Classically Queer being made after the event, recording of our Pride events across Pride & Joy weekend and our Family Fun Day, and an online gallery of the works that come out of our various artists commissions.
We will also be welcoming CityFibre to our Family Fun Day, on Saturday 14 August, where their team will be onsite celebrating the day alongside us.
CityFibre is fantastically aligned with our mission of creating a Pride that is accessible to all, especially those who still cannot attend in person events. Coventry is being transformed into one of the best digitally connected areas on the planet with CityFibre investing £72m+ in a new full fibre network throughout Coventry.
As advocates for the growth and improvement of Coventry as a safe, diverse, and vibrant city we’re excited to welcome them on board and hope this will be the start of a fantastic, ongoing, friendship.
Paul Desson-Baxter, Chair of Coventry Pride says “Working alongside CityFibre and their LGBT+ network to provide more digital accessibility to our community is something that we hope will really make this year’s event better than ever. We’ve had to overcome a lot, with last year’s event moving completely online, with CityFibre’s support we can reach as many members of our community as possible in 2021.”
Leigh Hunt, CityFibre’s City Manager for Coventry, said “Coventry Pride is a key part of the city’s annual cultural calendar and we’re really excited to help open it up to those who are unable to join the celebrations in person. At CityFibre, not only do we pride ourselves on having a diverse and inclusive workforce, we strongly believe future-proofed digital connectivity has the power to bring people and communities closer together. Coventry Pride becoming a hybrid event for the first time this year is a great example of that and we naturally jumped at the chance of becoming the event’s first-ever digital sponsor.”
